    nickname of tiny lizards in south florida?

    does anyone know the nickname of the tiny lizards that are indigenous to south Florida..I am not looking for chameleon or iguana or salamander or gecko..I am looking for something that`s on the tip of my tongue and just can not grasp.. please help... seen in Key Largo...

    thanks...but that wasn`t it either..that`s the scientific name for these..but not the name I`m looking for..

    Actually the scientific name is Anolis Carolineaus (sp?). They`re called anoles or American chameleons.

    Are you talking about the Southern Fence Lizard that is popular in Florida and the southern states?

    That`s probably another name for them (green anoles).
