Tegu Cage ((Pics))

well today i decided to finally take some pics of the tegu cage me and my brother built...it is 5'x3', and then 2' to the bottom of the doors...









the right side when looking at the cage has a door that you can open ontop of the main door, and under the peice of plywood there is 1/2" plastic coated metal mesh so on nice days the occupants can get some sun...

heat is as follows

150w basking bulb
250w ceramic heater
and the other empty socket is where another 250w nocternal heat bulb will be put...


the way the heat is set up is that the basking bulb is ran 12 hours a day (8-8) and has a overheat safety so that if durring the summer the cage exceeds 110*F (tegu basking spot heat) the basking light will turn off to help cool the cage, and the other 2 sockets (the 2 250w heat elements are ran to keep the tank opperating between 75-85*F ambiant temprature.

the cage is not completly water tight so in the bottom we cut 2 4" dranes, and the cage is sitting up on a 10" stand off the ground.<br><br>Post edited by: Style23, at: 2007/04/25 01:33
