bearded dragon buddies-

I know some reptiles can live peaceful with other kinds, is there any reptile that bearded dragons can be housed together with?
    Just curious!

I'm not sure but I am sure you will get some strong reactions from other members saying other species shouldn't be together.

    bearded dragon buddies-

Well I know several people who house water dragons and basiliks (sp) and water dragons and horned mountain lizards together and they do fine.
I just don't know if beardies have another buddy that might be okay to be with.

    bearded dragon buddies-

I have never heard of anyone keeping another species with BDs. I had 2 and they had to be seperated at about 4 months old.

i would like some advise on my bearded dragon she has stopped eating and i was wondering if you may know what i can do to incourage her - the temp and humidity in the virium is fine, i'm giving her hydro life and bathing her once a day, she stopped shedding a week ago and was fine but in the past few days she just won't eat. one of her eyes won't open either and i don't know what to do. She is 6 months old and i have 2 other dragons and they are fine with her when they are together. could you shed any light on the situation plaese

It's possible that the area around the closed eye is shedding and that's why she won't open it. Maybe try putting a warm, wet cloth over the closed eye for a few minutes and see if she opens it later. Is there any discharge around the eye? Does it look matted shut?

Maybe her eye is bothering her and that's why she won't eat right now. My guess is that she'll continue eating normally once the eye problem is solved.

Please let us know what happens!

Post edited by: Garnet, at: 2007/05/14 16:59

Hi Concep_ta and welcome to the forum! I am not familiar with hydro-life what is it?

Like Garnet asked is the eye having a discharge or swollen? Why are you bathing her daily? Also want to clear up something you said, is she in with two other dragons? Could one of them have accidentally scratched her eye?

You say the temps are fine, so she is getting to bask and everything ok? She's getting UVB?

For eating what does she really like? Live food like crickets? Or greens and veggies? How about a brite dandelion bloom and some fresh leaves too?

Hi I only joined up today, but thought as i am having the same problem with one of my BD i,d share with you what i am doing, which is pretty much everything you are except i am useing a droper that holds around two tea-spoons of food, to hand feed my lizard. I am feeding him around six times a day with vitamised vegies mixed with a dash of his calicum powder. It took a min or so to get him into it, but now there is no problem. I will do this for a week but if there is no sign of improvement will take him to a reptile vet. GOODLUCK, keep me posted and let me know how you get on.

i have seen beardies housed with two others before ! the first iv have seen is a bosc or savannah monitor ! they were kept by the same man and often were let out together in the house ! hes viv broke and he housed the monitor with the beardie for w while ! no fights or misbehaving!

and the other is a uro ! at my local rep store there is a hooooge corner viv that had beardies and uros together! i have a bit of a strong reply to this from other forum members but there seemed to be no side effects.

the only thing i can imagine is the difference in temperature that the guys require !

i saw no behavioural reasons not to house them together !
