Thread: cham rehab

    cham rehab

Last year our veilded cham suffered some sort of intoxication that debilitated her a lot. She was force fed ever since. She has gained back her nice colour and is grown. Last month she shed the right hint leg (I don't know if herps can shed partially). Two weeks ago she also had a complete shed, it came off all by itself, no help needed. I tried to put some crickets in her enclosure, but never saw her actually eat, they disappeared, two I found dead and the chams poo was so small that I doubted she had eaten any of them.
But: yesterday arrived big bulk of crickets, and this morning I put again some in her cage. Few minutes later I saw her climbing acrobatically on a pothos twig, upside down (like a sloth) while she chasing a cricket. And she was using her tongue! I'm so proud of the little gal, I thought she wouldn't be able to use it properly, because of the long disuse, but instead she's giving a perfect example of a healthy and happy chamaleon. Yay!

Awww, that's so good to hear. They can be such hard creatures to help medically sometimes, its great to hear about sucesses.

I miss our Veiled. He died after having a long (for a male chameleon) happy life a couple of years ago.

Ignore it, Anna. It's probably the same damn troll that just keeps coming back. Just like the Energizer Bunny, except this must be one of its turds.

Thanks I hope she'll stop now to be afraid of me (another bad effect of the force feeding). Whenever I enter the room she goes to hide in the pothos flowerpot.

My bf is the same. Though he's reaching the point where he's starting to get used to the new arrives. Somehow. As long as it are corn snakes maybe.
