my white tree frog tank wont heat up

i got a 2 white tree frogs and i got a heat mat and the person at the pet stoe said i didnt need a heat lamp just a mat but my tank wont get hoter and my frogs seem differnt and i am worried and should i get a heat lamp or bulb or any thing else

I don't know a lot about tree frogs but I would definitly recommend a daylight bulb not a mat. I have no idea why they would tell you to get a mat. they spend a lot of their time in trees, TREES (the name says that). This means they aren't on the ground on the mat but should be heated from above.

Actually I prefer mats when the animal doesn't need a lot of light. For tree frogs, or other tree dwellers, you put the mat on the side of the tank instead of on the bottom. Lamps tend to dry things out too much in my opinion.

thanks very much but i found out the problem i had the wrong soubsrate now i got bark and lil bit of moss and it looks good and the frogs love it so now .. alfred and doris say thanks :laugh: :cheer:
