    Importance of hide boxes

First off I don't plan on taking the hideboxes out of my snakes cages, how ever I'm curious just how imporant are they? My two snakes are a Florida King and a Ball. It seems to be very important to the ball, but what about the kings? Are they only very important for young snakes or for adults as well?

Mind you this is pure curiosity so any and all info is great.

i think that snakes like em cuz its a place for them to hide, both of my baby girls love these hides and i think they would try to kill me if i took em away.

yeah they will chill next to the water dish( im assuming on the cold side of the tank) if the hid is in a spot that is too hot for them to want to sleep in.

A hide box is a very important piece of furniture to your snake’s health. Stress is a killer and the hid box helps in curb this.

every snake i have will use a hide box if there is one present. except for the ones that borrow in the substrate, they will usually ignore them and spend most of there time under the coco-fiber.

yeah, it is a lil hot for him on that side of the tank, you should drop it to at least 85, because the normal temp is 80-85

    Re:Importance of hide boxes

I have 2 hide boxes. one on the hot side and one on the cool side. This way he has the best of both worlds. he often moves between the 2 to regulate his body temperature. I also keep the hide on the cooler side full of damp moss to aid shedding. My BP hardly ever uses his water bowl to soak but he often takes a drink from it. I keep the water in the middle to help with humidity.
