Looking for live feeders in Atlanta

I finally have my own ball python. No more having to hold my friend's snakes longingly. I found a place that sells live feeders, the only problem is that they're in Woodstock and thats a 40 minute drive from where I live (a bit much to do every week). Obviously I will make that drive if I have to. However, if anyone knows of a pet supply store that sells live feeder mice (preferably close to the Atlanta area, even better if its on the east or north end of the city) I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks!

Looking for live feeders in Atlanta

I just had a small thought, my drive for feeders is 52 minutes one way. I don't own snakes though. I decided to post back because I drive a long way to get feeders. Gran-it I have other business while I am there...but I know the feeling every time I need to pick up food for my Geckos. You can imagine the amount of feeders I bring home with me so they last till my next trip.

Good luck finding a closer spot. I am hoping a new petco, petsmart opens in a vastly growing town 35 minutes closer...that would be great if it does.

I'd rather not feed my ball frozen if I can help it. I think fresh meat would be more nutritious (not to mention fun) for it. I've been hearing that PETCO is a lot better about live feeders than Petsmart is though.

I know for sure Petco is way better with my Gecko feeders then Petsmart is...I would think that would be true for other feeders as well. I stopped getting my feeders at Petsmart. I have also been ripped off in my count a few times...only reason I would like either or closer...because closer is good.

Well apparently petsmart makes you sign a form saying you wont feed their mice to your snake and they mark them up in price too. I was considering just breeding my own feeders but I really don't have the time or the space for that. There's three cats, my snake, and probably another snake in a couple months (my roommate wants a king snake) at my house. I called PETCO today though and they said they have live mice for $1-5 depending on the size I need and they said they didn't care if the mice ended up as snake food. Geckos eat crickets right? You could try a bait shop if you can't get to a PETCO or a reptile supply store. I know most bait shops have live insects like crickets, wormy things, etc. and they're usually priced pretty reasonably.

Bait shops are even harder to come by then a pet store for me...Geckos also eat meal worms and wax worms...at least that's what I feed mine. I've heard other feeders work well, but I stick to just 3 feeders. Thanks for that suggestion though on a bait shop. Here in Colorado, you only find the bait shops around fishing waters...and I live very far from any fishing locations.
