    Chicago Herp Ban Proposal

Recevied this in my email, as well as on fieldherpers.com and the kingsnake forums:

I hear it's word-for-word cut-and-paste from the NYC ban, with "New York
City" replaced with "Chicago." Read the fieldherpers.com account; there's a letter from Dr. Fry on there as well as a quasi-interview with the attorney (or at least their staff; can't remember) proposing the legislation.

Was witch first part that said "Reptile (reptilia)" or some such the part the banned all reptiles, and it went on to list included reptiles? Ya, there was no exclusion there. I read it the same way.

I asked the question on fieldherpers.com.

http://www.fieldherpers.com/fieldherping/messages/16181.html for a more complete list of committee members, as well as Dr. Fry's and ARAV's response to similar legislation proposed by HSUS.

And then any info yet on the name/amount of the sometimes proposed bill and it's current status?
All in all we'll need that info before we can act effectively. But otherwise, I've got time to write a few letters.
