I have a UTH for my 10 gal tank. my leopard gecko is about 2 mos old.
I'm using paper towels and a 1/2 in. thick limestone flat rock about 6in. and his hideout sits on top of the stone. it still gets too hot.
First... is limestone safe? is there any other stones out there that doesn't absorb so much heat? i was hoping to not have to use a regulater. I also have a laser thermometer.
cool side is about 74 degrees and like I said, hot side is pretty hot inside his hide about 98 to 100 degrees. if i lift up his hide it cools. so his hide is trapping too much heat.
please let me know any advice.
Thanks!
