 python shedding skin - 2007/12/29 00:32 my python just started shedding its skin but only its skin from its head has come off, is this a sign of bad health?

 python shedding skin - 2007/12/29 06:00 Does the other skin seem loose? How long has it been that the head shed came off?

This is probably a sign that the humidity is low. Best thing to do is soak in some warm water. You should also have something rough in the cage it can use to rub the shed off.

 python shedding skin - 2007/12/29 07:57 Defently need to raise the hummidity, try misting the cage good. If that doesent help get it off, soak it in warm water. Im guessing its a ball python?, if so you need the hummidity to be atleast 60%.

 python shedding skin - 2007/12/29 12:40 started shedding about two days ago, has something rough in his tank, but only heat source is a heat mat which is under his tank, is this enough?

 python shedding skin - 2008/01/02 11:20 i have put in a thermostat to check temps. we have him in a 1ft plastic tank as recomended by the reptile shop but it is very well ventilated at the top so it doesn't keep much heat in and hard to keep up humidity. the snake is about 2ft (6 months old) we have a spare 2ft glass tank and were considering moving him.

we soaked him twice and managed to help him shed.

Glad you helped him shed but you will need to make arrangements to get the humidity up, meaning probably changing the entire tank!
